George has over 15 years of experience in speciality insurance, including a specific focus on bloodstock insurance. With a family background that was firmly rooted in the horse racing industry, George has gained hands-on experience and a direct knowledge of the thoroughbred industry, including stallion breeding. He began his career at a leading stud farm in Ireland in 2002, before working in Australia and the United States. In 2008, he made the move into insurance for the bloodstock market.
Throughout his career, George has maintained strong relationships with top-tier insurance providers and has specialised in providing tailored insurance solutions to thoroughbred owners, breeders, and industry professionals. His vast industry knowledge and practical experience gives him a unique insight and understanding of his clients’ requirements, allowing him to provide them with a tailored service that is fully aligned with their specific needs. This alignment with his clients, together with his detailed knowledge of speciality insurance products, are key to his success.
An enthusiastic long-distance runner, George has run over eight marathons, raising money for cancer charities. He also enjoys flying, having obtained his private pilot’s licence.
Archie is an experienced insurance professional with an in-depth and practical knowledge of the bloodstock market.
Archie began his career in Australia, working on an international stud farm for the Sangster family and subsequently various racing yards in England, before joining the British army. Archie served in the army from 2009-2015, where he saw active deployment in Afghanistan, attached to the Estonian Strike force.
In 2015, Archie left the army and joined Willis Tower Watson (WTW), beginning as a Broker and subsequently becoming the Head of Bloodstock, Livestock and Aquaculture. During his time at WTW, Archie and his team placed the largest disease policy into Lloyds for an American hog producer. Archie was then headhunted to set up Miller’s operation in 2022 and became its Head of Bloodstock and Livestock. In 2024, Archie was approached by 1783 to join its bloodstock and speciality insurance partner, White Horse International.
Archie takes great pride in combining his love of horses and his hands on bloodstock experience with his extensive insurance knowledge. This combination has enabled Archie to be innovative with insurance solutions, crafting bespoke products for his clients, some of whom represent the biggest names in the bloodstock market. Evolving and innovating are key to his success and this provides White Horse with a unique edge on its competitors. This, alongside its position in both the US and UK markets, make White Horse a perfect choice for international breeders looking for international expertise and reach.
Charlie has a strong background within the thoroughbred industry, having spent time working at international stud farms prior to launching his career in insurance. With this practical and hands-on experience, Charlie has gained a unique insight into the bloodstock insurance market. His experience at leading stud farms and awareness of how breeding operations work from a grass roots perspective, allow him to understand his clients’ requirements and provide them with tailored and best-in-class insurance coverage.
Prior to joining White Horse, Charlie gained a wide range of experience in the (re)insurance business with Ascot Group. In this role, Charlie worked across all classes of re-insurance, and he gained exposure to a variety of business classes, giving him a sound base for moving forward in the insurance sector.
Charlie joined White Horse in 2024 and is based in the London office. He works with a portfolio of clients to source the specialised coverage they need for their equine business. He brings with him a wealth of experience in the horse racing and breeding industries, including a specialism in showjumping, he maintains a strong network of contacts in both the US and European markets.
